Throughout Life People Come and Go...

As many of you know there are many people that come into your life and leave at some point. Life is always changing, some for the good and some for the bad. Over the past 40+ years I have had many people that came into my life who I have lost touch with. One dear friend left me less than two months after meeting him (undiagnosed heart condition) and another after a little over 6 months (RIP Chris). I have been fortunate that I have 5 friends that have reached or will reach the 10 year mark. To those 5 THANK YOU for being there.

At this time in my life there are 4 people that stand out as true friends, ones that I have gone the extra mile when I was (or in one case am in) a low point in my life. I wish to take a moment and talk a little about each of them.

The first up and longest friendship of the four is my friend Jason. I met Jason back in 2003 when we were members of a gay Yahoo Group. We eventually became friends and would chat on Yahoo IM. Soon we became phone friends where we would chat in the morning. I would be heading home from work and he would be heading to work. Then we started talking on the phone after he was off work. We still do this though the mornings not as much due to my work schedule.

For someone that is only 25, he is very wise young man. His advice is very thoughtful and if I had only listened to him, my life would be better right now. He is currently helping me to repair a part of my life that I honestly say I fucked up on. Again I should have listened to him. I hope he is successful in his endeavor.

Jason also was the friend who named my blog "Rantings of a Raving Romulan". Thank you Jason. I think you know me TOO WELL. Giggle.

Jason is lucky to have a wonderful young man in his life. Jordi and Jason have been together for a few years now and they are a cute couple. I owe Jordi a belated birthday as Jason never mentioned that it was on the first of this month. JORDI HAPPY BELATED 21ST BIRTHDAY.

We have not met in person but I hope to rectify that this coming November when a friend of mine who is also part of this post will be in Los Angeles on Nov 4th and 5th. My plan is to be there so that I can meet both of them. I am also hoping that another of the guys I will mention in this post can come up from San Diego to join us.

Greece Wank - Sam

I got really horny while on holiday in Greece and hadn’t had a wank for 3 days so I had to jack one out on the balcony. It was on the last day.

Fire up to over 1,600 acres, Highway 138 still closed.

The Williams Creek Fire just east of Glide, Ore., continues to spread on Umpqua National Forest land. Since Tuesday night, the fire has more than tripled and is over 1,600 acres. Pictures of the sky at night on Wednesday are featured below.

In Sports: the University of Oregon Ducks are ranked 3rd and the Oregon State University Beavers are ranked 4th in the first preseason Pac-10 football poll. The Pac-10 consists of the two Oregon teams, the University of Washington, Washington State University, University of California Berkeley, Stanford, University of Southern California, University of California Los Angeles, Arizona State University and University of Arizona. It is nice to see the Ducks in third place early on. Let us pray they are No. 1 at the end of the season.

Its All About Sam

Today is a very special day. It is the 23rd birthday of my dear friend Sam McGinn. He is happily enjoying himself in Greece for his birthday. I told him to being me back a HOT Greek Stud.

Sam and I met back in 2007 when we were both members of the EurocremeLIVE chat website. Unfortunately we did not meet till the end of the site. The site, one day, was no longer running and Sam emailed. I was surprised as I had not chatted with him. He said he Googled my name. We talked a bit off and on after a second chat site, Chat Boys, went live. It lasted an even shorter time than the Eurocreme site. Afterwards we started chatting more till it was almost a daily thing.

I got to be jealous of Sam back last year at this time. His birthday trip last year was to Prague. I have not visited Prague but it is on the top of my list (I have to meet my dear friend Marek). I tried to arrange a meeting between Sam and Marek but it did not work out.

Sam is one of my dearest friends who came to my rescue last year when I lost internet access. He assisted me with getting back online and I will always be in his debt for doing that.

One thing I admire of Sam is his graphic artwork. He has assisted me, Marek and a mutual friend of ours Tantilla with banners for our websites. The banner up above is one of his works. At the very bottom of this page is the ones he did for Marek and me. He has also stated that for my birthday present this year he would assist in a makeover of my website, torath of romulus' homepage. I look forward to seeing what he will accomplish.

Sam has done some modeling in the past and I included one of the pics. I also have one with his mum and another with his two bros.


Sam lives with his mother, one of his two older brothers and his dog Toby. Toby has had a rough year this year with his health. At one point it looked like he would not make it but with a little prayer he pulled through. Sam treasures Toby and it would be very difficult on Sam if Toby was not around. They are a cute couple.

Earlier this year Sam had some great news, he is coming to the US on holiday with his mother. Unfortunately he and his mum are on a guided tour so the closest he will be to Oregon is central California. He will be in the Los Angeles area on November 4th and 5th so I am planning to be down there then. He will get the opportunity to meet me, our mutual friend Jason, Jason's bf Jordi and if lucky our mutual friend DeWayne. I really look forward to the trip.


Well Sam I hope you had a wonderful birthday in Corfu Greece. I am missing our chats. I want to wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Thank you very much for the friendship that we have. You are a TRUE friend.

I do not know if anyone has noticed, but on the banner for the blog it mentions that the blog is part of the torath69.com network. Today I thought that I would mention what all is part of that network.

The origin of the name actually comes from my friend and guest contributor to his site, Sam McGinn. I had asked for a banner for the blog and he made the one that you see. As soon as I saw the torath69.com network I was very happy. I wish to thank Sam for the excellent banner and the creation of the network. THANK YOU SAM!

The torath69.com network consists of this blog, my personal website torath69.com, two websites that I own and maintain: AlanCapier.com and TantillasWorld.com. Both these sites are for friends of mine that I met back in 2007. Alan has been featured on this blog as recently as this week. He is a pornstar working out of Prague, Czech Republic. TanillasWorld is for my friend Tantilla from Poland. He has been a very dear friend to me and when he had gone to Hustlaball Berlin in 07, he took many pictures. Well to share them with friends I created TantillasWorld. I will be updating both of these sites in the next few days.

Another site loosely associated with the torath69.com network is DeWayneinSD.com. I have assisted DeWayne in the early stages of developing his site. I highly recommend it.

A REVIEW OF BRITNEY SPEARS IN LONDON

Last Sunday Evening (June 7th), I went to the 27-year-old pop superstar’s Circus tour London at the o2. It was a sold-out crowd that cheered on my idol as she gyrated and slithered across the stage while singing some of her biggest hits, from the recent “Womanizer” to her first and now classic song, “Baby One More Time.”

Britney had danced like she hasn’t danced in a very long time. And, one of the best parts of the evening was that Spears seemed to be clear-headed. She did not appear heavily-sedated or lethargic at all.

There is something about Britney that makes her truly special. She has that indescribable “it” factor. People are always rooting for her, even when she was at her lowest lows. I genuinely want to see her succeed! I've seen her grow up in front of our eyes, and I love her - shortcomings and all. She may not be perfect, but that’s okay. She’s our Britney.

Gay Pride June 13-14 in Portland

On the advice of a very dear friend of mine I have decided to offer more than just porn on a regular basis. I have done non-porn posts before (Prop 8, bill in the Oregon Legislature, NCIS, Star Trek and two friends birthdays) but not that often. I wish to thank my friend, Sam, for the suggestion.

Today's Topic is Portland Gay Pride. I will be attending my 7th Pride weekend this year. The first time I went to one was back in 2003, about two months before I moved to Portland. A lot has changed since that first weekend. Some things for the good and some for the bad. I have survived and that is the main thing (with the help of many friends including Sam).

I look forward to this year's Pride as it will allow to get out of Southern Oregon for 4 days. I will also be able to see some friends of mine that I have not seen for a while.

The plan for the weekend is to head up around 5:30 am on Friday the 12th. I am hoping, if things work out, to see my friend Deborah. I have not seen her since last September. If she is not able to meet up then I will probably not leave till around 8 am. I also plan to treat my friend Andrew to lunch that day if he can get away from work. I did get the opportunity to see him last month when I was in Portland for Star Trek.

Later on that night my dinner plans are Italian at the Olive Garden in Gresham. My friend, Michael, will be joining me. Afterwards we are going for a drink at Scandals (my favorite Gay Bar in Portland). I am looking forward to that as one of their cocktail waiters is HOT and one I have known for about 3 years, Patrick. He remembers what I like to drink and I truly appreciate that.

Saturday is Pride Festival time. I will be there most of the time that it is open. I am hoping that Andrew will be able to join me for part of the day. Saturday night I will be going to Steam Portland, the gay men's bathhouse out on Sandy. This will be the first year that I will have a car while going there so I will not be forced to stay there till Tri-Met bus line 12 starts up in the AM. :)

Sunday is the Pride Parade. It starts at 11:30 am though we all know that us Gays have OUR OWN TIME and nothing EVER starts when it should. Last year was the first year that none of the Bible protester showed up. We missed you guys. Hopefully they will be back this year with all of the talk of Gay Marriage around the country.

On Monday I return to Southern Oregon :(. I am not looking forward to that. I so want to be back in Portland. I will blog all about how the weekend turned out the Tuesday after. I have also added to the top of the Pornstar Birthdays/Picture of the Day post a countdown till when I leave for Portland. The countdown begins Monday morning.
